How does light therapy work to reduce fat?
Within the past decade, light therapy became a new and popular solution for body contouring. Research demonstrated that light therapy can reduce overall body circumference measurements of specifically treated regions, including the hips, waist, thighs, and upper arms.
A 2021 study confirmed that light therapy alone or in combination with exercise help to reduce excess weight, as well as ameliorating inflammation and diabetes extent, especially in cases where losing weight may have previously been a ‘losing’ battle.
Our flex pad for fat loss (FLEX001), uses a combination of 635nm and 850nm wavelengths (colors). The 635nm wavelength (color) is excellent for the breakdown of scar tissue and deep fat. Specifically, the 635nm wavelength (color) activates an enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase, which opens the pores in fat cells. The fat cells then deflate like a balloon. Now that the fat is circulating around in the bloodstream, the goal is to burn the fat by doing some exercise, so the fat is quickly eliminated by the body.
The 850nm wavelength (color) on the other hand is proven to support calorie burn, increase circulation and cell energy, and boost lymphatic drainage for even faster detoxification of the released fats.

How to achieve the best results?
Red light therapy does dissolve fat cells, but it works better in combination with a healthy lifestyle and exercise than completely on its own.
Therefore, we recommend using our flex pad in combination with the following fat loss plan in order to help you lose weight as quickly and efficiently as possible:
- Avoid eating 1,5h before the light therapy session.
- Drink at least 1L water in the hour prior the treatment.
- Ideally no alcohol on the day of treatment as your liver will already be busy releasing fat.
- Treat the body area with our 635nm and 850nm flex pad for 20-30 mins. This ensures that the stored fat is ‘cracked’, so to speak.
- Exercise for at least 30 mins after the treatment (e.g., on the treadmill, home trainer, push-ups, walk, …) to release the circulating fat from your system via the lymph system and liver.
- Drink plenty after exercise to drain and eliminate the loosened fat.
